A talented young photographer I love to work with. She always surprise me with her imagination. Maite experiment into the post production showing unique style and great aesthetic. Great photo manipulation respecting all photography roles, composition, lights, movements, sensations...
An Artist, thats all she is.
180 magazine just publish two of our works we did together, titled "Growing Crows" and "Deconstructions".In this January Issue of the magazine you can also reed a short profile of Maite Guerrero and how she describe photography.
I am going to post one of this shoots we've done in Barcelona last year. Unfortunately this work was not good appreciated, but it still one of my favorite. The transformations create unique vision to demonstrate fashion, photography and art together.

He prefers river boats to London’s dusty, crowded tube; he’s had consultancy stints at Donna Karen, Chloé, Roberto Cavalli and Nicole Fahri yet his favourite shop is Uniqlo. His AW09 RTW collection for Ossie Clark was called “spectacular” with WWD even saying that he “was at his best” and deservedly credited with the label’s revival when he took over the creative reigns at the cult 60s label in 2007. And we all have none other than Marks and Spencer to thank for luring him to London from Israel. Proof of his artistic talent is his BFC NEWGEN award, which he won in 2005 leading to launching his own RTW S/S06 collection at London Fashion Week. And since then fashion designer Avsh Alom Gur has never looked back.Central Saint Martins graduate, Avsh says that his designs challenge glamour and our definition of beauty. His philosophy - garments should work for those who wear them and not the other way around. He achieves this through fluid shapes that seem to change and shape around the body’s contours, effortlessly relaxed and breezy. Avsh Alom Gur is one of the designers who love colour and use it to bring out their designs to live. Bright, bold and memorable his prints provoke almost a 3D feeling, morphing and moving bringing his muse woman to life. What he did for Ossie Clark was indeed spectacular and inspired - floor length silks, stunning and full of charm and sophistication yet keeping with the label’s vintage spirit. But it is the designs for his eponymous label Avsh Alom Gur that truly showcase his talent.

Avsh Alom Gur’s S/S2010 is inspired by OpArt, which is certainly a great place to draw inspiration from especially when it comes to prints. Complicated prints are not very easy to work with but Avsh seems to do it effortlessly. He never fails to infuse life and energy which helps bring out the luxurious feel of the silks. The black and white prints from SS10 are mesmerizing, their fluidity heightened by the splashes of bold, bright colour and the see-thru fabric that enhances the shapes and deepens the visual illusion. No need for complicated cuts - simplicity is the driving force here. What more does a modern woman need - effortless style that softly moulds around her body. Daring, modern and beautiful.

One of the precious advantages of the net is to discover great talents such as Adriana. Gradually, these talented people become your friends and, a day comes when you cannot wait to showcase them in SpeciesMag. After two years chatting with Adriana, I can say a lot about her but I will try to be concise and straightforward as she is: very, very minimalistic.

After graduating Fashion Design at the National Art Academy in Bulgaria, Adriana Gerasimova created Addminimal, a studio of visual creations. Rebel, ambitious and with a minimalistic style, Adriana aims to add something unique to the appearance of each of her creations. She fully participates in the development of her projects not only as a creator, stylist and makeup artist but also dealing with post production. Quite sure of what she does, perfectionist when working, she tends not to put barriers to creativity. Like many artists, Adriana rarely supports trade rules and wins over customers with her tempting vision. Back to nature is a series of wallpapers that still carries the lines of this personal style and provocative, basic use of her concept.

~~BACK TO NATURE~~

Back to nature. What is the story of this project?

With this project, as in most cases, I was inspired by the human kind in itself; human physiology and appearance; What is inside the person and the strength of the metamorphosis of the image. In this project, specifically, I wanted to escape from the typical nude session idea. I wanted to the object of the woman to express the supernatural phenomena and carry something unapproachable, sinister and out of control despite its frailty. That's why I chose the type of model that represents both the woman and the child. The decades of struggle, the innocence and maturity, all in one character. Back to nature is a personal project with the idea of the images being used as wallpaper to decorate ceilings and walls with style and quality.

Do you have difficulties to win over your clients with your personal style?

I work on the principle that if someone want to hire me as an artist, art director or designer, then they know my style. There have been couple of times when there were clashes but usually I am convincing. Sometimes, as it happens, I have had to not voice my opinion but rather subtly express it in my project. The risk that a job is rejected always exists, but this is part of the game.

You work without frontiers. Still, is there anything that hinders the process of your projects?

The lack of alternatives drives my creativity. And it is the same that pushes my personal and professional projects forward.

Do you always succeed in delivering your original idea? Do you plan ahead or you improvise during the photo shoot?

I always have a visual idea before starting a project. To prepare for the photo-shoot, I try to clarify the concept to the team through storyboards, film clips, drawings or quotes. This process of crystallizing the idea is very much needed as to leave free time for improvisation.

What would you like to achieve with Addminimal? And where?

My dream is to travel a lot and work overseas but to live in my country, Bulgaria. I don’t put a limit on my dreams at all.
